MASONIC LODGE

Sincerity Lodge No. 214 F. & A. M. was originally chartered in Holmesville, Mississippi. It received its dispensation in 1855 and was chartered on January 21, 1857. In 1860 it moved to the new county seat in Magnolia.

The location of its first Lodge building is unknown. In 1898 it was meeting in a building on the northeast corner of Myrtle Street and East Railroad Avenue. In 1904 and 1909 it was known to be meeting in a building on the southeast corner of Myrtle Street and East Railroad Avenue. In 1921 it acquired a lot on Magnolia Street and continues to meet there on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:00 PM.

EASTERN STAR

Magnolia Chapter No. 33 Order of the Eastern Star was chartered around 1907 and defunct by 1914. Information is still being researched on this chapter and it is possible it wasn’t located in Magnolia, Mississippi.

Gussie A. Evans Chapter No. 243 Order of the Eastern Star was chartered about 1925. The chapter is currently defunct.
