Starting in 2005 Geocoins were produced with the names and icons of the current Lackeys at Groundspeak/Geocaching HQ. Coins were made in 2005 and 2007. Starting in 2009 they have been made every year. The first two coins were owned by Signal. Coins minted starting in 2009 can be owned by individual geocachers. Starting in 2011 there were two editions minted. Usually a silver/nickel edition for public sale and a gold edition given to volunteers and employees.
Starting around 2013 there is also an accompanying Lackey Aluminum Tag. The first few years it had the same tracking number as the coin. Afterwards the tag has a separate tracking number.
