There were three different Masonic Lodges that were chartered in Holmesville over the years. All are believed to have met on the upper floor of the courthouse.
Rising Virtue Lodge No. 7 F. & A. M was granted a dispensation in 1821 and chartered on January 6, 1823. It went defunct on January 1, 1838.
Holmesville Lodge No. 69 F. & A. M. was granted a dispensation in 1845 and chartered on January 20, 1846. It went defunct in 1880.
Sincerity Lodge No. 214 F. & A. M. was granted a dispensation in 1855 and chartered on January 21, 1857. In 1860 is moved to the new county seat of Magnolia. Additional information may be found on the Magnolia page.
