EASTERN STAR

Brookhaven has a long history with the Eastern Star. It has operated under three different Chapter numbers or names.

  • Brookhaven Chapter No. 1
  • Winnie Davis Chapter No. 1
  • Brookhaven Chapter No. 1

Brookhaven’s first chapter was chartered by the General Grand Chapter on 8-30-1895 as Brookhaven No. 1. Within 2 years the name was changed to Winnie Davis Chapter No.1

On 3-22-1899 the Lodge Hall burned and the Chapter went dormant. Sometime in late 1905/early 1906 the Chapter was revived.

On 5-29-1906 when the new Grand Chapter of Mississippi was formed they were chartered as Brookhaven Chapter No. 1. They currently meet at 7:00 P. M. on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
