HISTORY
Prior to Canton becoming the county seat, Livingston was the county seat of Madison county.
Livingston Lodge No. 192, F&AM was originally chartered in Livingston, Mississippi.
Livingston Lodge went defunct in 1866.
In 1873 the lodge was revived in a new location, Madison Station.
In 1875 the name was changed from Livingston Lodge No. 192 to Madison Station Lodge No. 192.
EVENTS
On the 15th December, The M. W. Grand Master issued a Dispensation to Bro. B. F. Crowell, William G. Pride, John Simmons, Wm. R. Burnett, Stephen McDaniel, E. G. Carson, Wm. J. Furguson, King Carraway, Garrett Goodloe, Samuel Pitard, A. A. Hairgrove and A. B. Manning, at Livingston, Madison County, to be called Livingston Lodge. Part of Grand Secretary's report to Grand Lodge in 1854.
On Wednesday, January 17th, 1866
at the Grand Lodge meeting in Jackson, Mississippi, Brother Kearney
offered the following resolution, which was adopted:
Whereas, Livingston Lodge, No. 192, had its room, papers, etc. destroyed
by the Federal army, and has not applied for a Dispensation; therefore,
be it Resolved, That a general demit be granted to members of said Lodge
by this Grand Lodge.
